Asbestos Claims
If you work in building demolition or in the construction industry then you may have been at risk of asbestos related diseases.
Coping with asbestos related diseases can be difficult. Our team of lawyers at Glaisyers will make your case as stress-free and painless as possibly by dealing with it sensitively and effectively.
There are four main diseases that are linked with inhalation of asbestos, including asbestosis, a scarring of the lung tissue which damages the lungs' ability to exchange gases and therefore leading to inadequate oxygen intake.
Mesothelioma is a cancer of the pleural lining and is almost always fatal with those affected usually dying within 1 or 2 years.
The other type of cancer related to asbestos is lung cancer, where a malignant tumour of the bronchi occurs, which invades and often obstructs air passages.
Lastly, diffuse pleural thickening is a non-malignant disease where the lining of the lung becomes scarred. It can also restrict expansion of the lungs which leads to breathlessness.
Exposure to these fibres may have occurred years ago, but you might have only recently developed symptoms of these diseases.
The majority of people suffering from asbestos related diseases will have been exposed in their employment; Carpenters, Electricians, Metal Plate Workers, Pipe Fitters and Plumbers are all at risk of inhaling asbestos fibres.
However, you may have been exposed to asbestos in some other way, such as by coming into contact with asbestos in a building such as a hospital or school.
Either way, we can help you to make a claim to compensate the trauma that you have endured.
