New divorce law comes into force on 6th April 2022 after years of campaigning by family lawyers and other professionals. The new law sees an end to the “blame game” and allows parties to divorce without accusations of fault.

It also provides for both parties to be able to apply for the divorce together, rather than having a Petitioner (now Applicant) and Respondent.

We hope that this will lead to a more cooperative and conciliatory approach, and our divorce and finance expert, Cathy Price, can guide you through the new process. Our family team can be contacted on 0783 452 0271, or Cathy can be emailed direct on CathyPrice@glaisyers.co.uk

We have risk assessed our offices to ensure the safety of our staff and clients

Our reception still remains closed and for anyone visiting the office it is strictly appointment only . The majority of our staff are still working from home and we are encouraging virtual meetings and telephone appointments where possible. However due to the lifting of restrictions we are getting closer and closer to getting back to normal!

We have stringent measures in place for anyone visiting our office.

Please do not attend our offices if you have any of the coronavirus symptoms these include a high fever, a new cough, and loss of smell and taste. You may be asked for your temperature to be taken using a non-contact thermometer and if this is high you will be asked to leave.

There will be a hand sanitiser station in reception and hazard tape separating the reception desk, we also ask that you wear a mask.

We have antibacterial spray and paper towels and we will ensure meeting rooms are cleaned before and after appointments.

We have clients toilet facilities, there are posters encouraging good hand washing practice. We have paper towels and antibacterial soap.

We will NOT be providing refreshments at this time so please feel free to bring these with you.

We also ask that NO-ONE accompanies you to your appointment unless absolutely necessary. This is to ensure that we can maintain a safe distance between you and a member of our staff.

As our reception still remains closed we ask on arrival that you telephone a member of staff and someone will let you in. If you do not have a direct contact number please telephone the following number 01212332971
